Residentials

There is an annual residential course for Class 2 Year 3 and 4 and Class 3 Year 5 and 6 children. We alternate residential trips with a four day visit to a city, and the next year, an outdoor educational course. We visit Derwent Hill Outdoor Centre in Portinscale, Keswick, and our city visit is to Edinburgh.

We feel these visits are very helpful in broadening children’s experiences and spending time away from family encourages independence. The visits have strong curricular links and safety is paramount. School adopts the county council’s guidance and procedures for health and safety in relation to educational visits outside of the classroom.
