Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education
At Kirkoswald CE School we believe that personal, social, health and economic education (PSHE) is key in supporting the wellbeing and emotional development of our children, allowing them to ‘be the best that they can be’. We aim to install skills, morals and values which give children the confidence to live their lives happily, safely and successfully, both now and in the future, as part of an ever changing, diverse society. Our mutual relationship with the wider Kirkoswald community allows for opportunities to reach out as active citizens, giving children the feeling of ‘making a difference’. Developing in these areas supports all learning: providing a curriculum which fosters happy, positive, respectful children with skills that they can apply to all aspects of life, and children who have high aspirations and ability to achieve, is our intention.
Our curriculum reflects the needs of all pupils and includes relationships and sex education (RSE). Sessions are delivered in a supportive environment and parents are informed when they will be taking place. For more information, please see our RSE policy.
