Computing
Computing at Kirkoswald CE Primary School intends to develop ‘thinkers of the future’ through a modern, ambitious and relevant education. Our children will use computational thinking and creativity that will enable them to become active participants and responsible digital citizens in the ever-developing digital world. We develop the pupils’ computing skills, understanding, capability and knowledge through taught computing lessons and then, through our creative curriculum, provide many opportunities for them to apply and consolidate their knowledge, skills and understanding. As such, our curriculum supports children in the development of problem solving, critical thinking and communication.
Whilst ensuring they understand the advantages and disadvantages associated with online experiences, we want children to develop as respectful, responsible and confident users of technology, aware of the measures that can be taken to keep themselves and others safe online through our whole school approach to e-safety.
